About Us

GOKYO is co-founded by Venkatesh Maheshwari ( Venki ) . After nearly 3 decades of working in global apparel industry, Venki identified the need to address the niche segment for premium quality clothing for outdoor performance activities in India. Being an avid and passionate mountaineer himself and having already summited the Mount Everest, Venki combined his idea and passion to create and launch Gokyo, to better serve the growing trekking community in India.

GOKYO - How & Why?

During one of the numerous sojourns in the Everest region, we took the route through Gokyo Ri. The stunning 360 degree view of the entire Everest region was mesmerising and the sight from this 5,357 meter peak left us spell bound! One could see the Cho Oyu, Lhotse and Makalu in a single view. Quaintly nestled at the base, in one of the highest settlements in the world, is a Sherpa tribe and a serene lake Gokyo. This became the inspiration for our brand – Gokyo

Our goal is to create & offer premium quality outfits and gear.  We aim to combine the international brand looks created with premium fabrics & styling.
